NASP Ethics and Principles Practice Exam

A key responsibility of school psychologists when faced with ethical dilemmas is to use a structured approach to resolve them. This involves employing established ethical guidelines, frameworks, and decision-making processes that consider the well-being of students, families, and the school community. A structured approach ensures that decisions are not made impulsively or based solely on personal beliefs, but rather through careful consideration of all relevant factors, including the ethical principles set forth by professional organizations.

This methodical process allows school psychologists to navigate the complexities of ethical dilemmas in a way that maintains professional integrity, promotes fairness, and upholds the ethical standards of the field. Utilizing such structured approaches helps to minimize subjective biases and ensures that the resolution of dilemmas is rooted in a consistent application of ethical principles, which is paramount in maintaining trust and credibility in their role.
